Have you bought, inherited or sold a property?

Purchase: The change of ownership form must be completed and signed by the previous owner (seller) and the new owner (buyer). If the signature of one party cannot be provided, please enclose a copy of the current registration notice from the local court (extract from the land register) with the date of the transfer of ownership. A priority notice of conveyance or a copy of the purchase contract is not sufficient. The AWB Landkreis Emsland is not informed of the change of ownership by the city and municipal administrations.

Please note: The waste containers are the property of Abfallwirtschaftsbetrieb Landkreis Emsland and must remain on the property. The containers may therefore not be taken away, e.g. when moving house.

You don’t need an organic waste garbage can because you compost in your garden or use the property commercially?

You can be exempted from using the organic waste garbage can if you compost all organic waste completely on the property in question. Otherwise, the obligation to connect and use the organic waste garbage can also applies to private households.

Would you like to apply for a reduction in waste disposal fees?

Under certain conditions, the waste management company grants a reduction on waste disposal fees:

The fee reduction is granted on application from the date of receipt of the application:

If a member of the household is in need of care, a reduction of EUR 6.00 per month (EUR 72.00 per year) can be granted.

If the fee reduction is applied for due to the need for care, the application must be accompanied by a certificate from the family doctor stating that increased waste is generated in the household due to an illness or need for care.

For families with small children, a reduction of EUR 3.00 per month (EUR 36.00 per year) can be granted for each child for a period of three years until the child reaches the age of 3.

The application must be accompanied by a copy of the birth certificate for each child.

If both conditions (reduction for small children and care dependency of a household member) are met, the fee reduction can also be granted at the same time. In this case, the fee is reduced by €9.00 per month.
