Old railroad sleepers often end up in the garden because they used to be used as edging, steps or decorative wood.
At some point, however, the wood becomes rotten, smells funny or simply no longer looks nice.
Then the heavy things have to be removed – and you have polluted wood that has to be disposed of.
This wood belongs to category A IV because it has often been treated with tar, oil or other substances to make it last longer.
In short: robust for the garden, but please be careful when disposing of it.s
