Residual waste

All waste that cannot be recycled and is therefore incinerated belongs in the residual waste garbage can. This primarily includes soiled materials, such as

  • soiled food packaging (pizza boxes, sausage or cheese papers, etc.)
  • Light bulbs (no energy-saving bulbs!)
  • Cigarette butts and garbage
  • cooled ash
  • Cleaning cloths, vacuum cleaner bags
  • Toiletries and diapers
  • Candle remnants
  • Thickened or dried emulsion paints
  • Laminate and carpet flooring
  • Small quantities of roofing felt or glass
  • old wallpapers
  • Small animal litter
  • et al.

As all household waste in the district of Emsland is thermally recycled (incinerated), old medicines can also be disposed of in the residual waste garbage can. Please make sure that unauthorized persons do not have access to it.

Removal & service

  • The residual waste garbage can is emptied every 14 days.
    The exact dates can be found in the collection calendar

  • Diaper subsidy:
    Applications for an additional residual waste garbage can due to increased diaper requirements can be found here: Fee reduction
  • More residual waste?
    You can either apply for a larger garbage can or buy additional residual waste sacks from your local council. These marked bags are simply placed next to the garbage can on collection day.
  • Disposal at the landfill site:
    Further quantities of residual waste can also be disposed of for a fee at one of our four central landfill sites.
